FUN FACT: Eddie Murphy was originally supposed to play Winston, and the character would have joined the team much earlier, and it would have been he who was slimed at the hotel. But Murphy had to decline the role as he was filming Beverly Hills Cop, and the script was re-written to have him appear about half-way through the film. Of course, the wonderful Ernie Hudson did a bang-up job with the role.

FUN FACT: Ghostbusters is a movie about ghosts and specters, and ironically the filming of the jail scene took place in a prison that was actually rumored to be haunted. Indeed, and the dailies had many scratches all over them with no plausible physical cause. Director Ivan Reitman was worried about having to go back and re-shoot parts of the scene there, but in the end the crew was very happy to find adequate usable footage to finish the scene without having to go back to the haunted prison. Whew!
